Answer: The global demand for cyber talent continues to outstrip supply. Apprenticeships provide your organization with an alternative talent pipeline, complementing traditional college degrees. By integrating registered apprenticeships, you can ensure a continuous and sustainable stream of skilled talent
Apprenticeship programs have demonstrated significant potential in improving business retention rates. Primarily, these programs offer employees valuable learning and growth opportunities, thereby enhancing their value to the organization. Secondly, such initiatives foster loyalty and commitment among the workforce. Lastly, apprenticeship programs cultivate a sense of camaraderie and belonging within the employee community. Research supports the positive impact of apprenticeships on employee loyalty and job satisfaction. For instance, a study conducted by the U.S. Department of Labor indicated that businesses engaged in apprenticeship programs exhibited higher employee retention rates compared to non-participating organizations. Additionally, findings from the National Bureau of Economic Research revealed that apprentices tend to exhibit higher job satisfaction levels compared to non-apprentices.
Answer: A registered apprenticeship program is a structured system combining both theoretical and practical training. It’s an industry-driven, high-quality career pathway where employers can develop and prepare their future workforce, and individuals can obtain paid work experience, and receive progressive wage increases, classroom instruction, and a portable, nationally-recognized credential. Registered Apprenticeships are industry-vetted and approved and validated by the U.S. Department of Labor or a State Apprenticeship Agency.
Answer: Absolutely. The apprenticeship model is not just for new talent. If you have existing employees keen on upskilling, our program can be an effective route to equip them with the cybersecurity skills they need, thereby strengthening your internal talent pool.
Answer: For employers, internships generally offer short-term exposure to potential talent. In contrast, registered apprenticeships are designed with long-term engagement in mind. The latter ensures structured, in-depth training, resulting in a professional ready for full-time integration into your workforce upon completion.
Answer: While there’s no obligation to hire post-apprenticeship, many employers recognize the value in retaining talent they’ve invested in training. According to The Departmetn of Labor (DOL), 90% of apprentices receive full-time offers upon completion, reflecting the program’s effectiveness in forging job-ready professionals.
By taking advantage of “Significant reduced costs,” as an employer, you can train apprentices at a highly subsidized rate compared to ThriveDX’s standard market price. This incredible opportunity is made possible through our collaboration with Apprenti, a non-profit organization. Apprenti has been granted the Department of Commerce’s Good Jobs Challenge (GJC) grant, which aims to nurture and deploy diverse talent. Through this program, ThriveDX is authorized to provide Related Technical Instruction under Apprenti’s Good Jobs Challenge grant, guaranteeing apprentices receive top-tier government-grade training programs that equip them with the skills required to excel in the industry.
ThriveDX’s comprehensive training program equips apprentices with the essential knowledge and skills to confidently tackle the CompTIA® Security+ Exam.
Inspired by military techniques and based on the globally recognized NICE-NIST 800-181 framework, Thrive DX’s training bootcamp prepares learners to five specific cyber jobs:
Answer: The program offers an intensive cybersecurity bootcamp that can be completed either in a immersive full-time format over three months or in a part-time format over eight months. Following the bootcamp, there is a one-year on-the-job training period at a reduced salary. This proven model guarantees that apprentices acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, equipping them for a seamless integration into your workforce.
Answer: As of 2023, there were 733 Registered Apprenticeship programs and 43,089 apprentices in cybersecurity-related occupations (Source: DOL). There has been a 34% overall growth of programs since 2021.
The tech industry is facing a significant skills gap, and apprenticeships offer a practical, hands-on way to train up-and-coming professionals. Unlike traditional education pathways, apprenticeships in cybersecurity provide a blend of academic learning and real-world experience, equipping participants with the skills they need to hit the ground running in their roles. This approach can be particularly useful in cybersecurity, where the threat landscape is constantly evolving, and hands-on experience is invaluable.
