Apprenti is a non-profit organization that delivers registered apprenticeship programs to bridge the tech talent and diversity gaps. They create pathways to access tech talent and help organizations address digital skills shortages. In August 2022, Apprenti was awarded the Department of Commerce Good Jobs Challenge (GJC) grant to develop and deploy diverse talent through the pathway of registered apprenticeship.

Ben Kapon

VP Marketing, ThriveDX for Enterprise

Over the last decade, Ben has held leadership positions in multiple startups and public companies, such as Check Point, Cognyte, Cylus, and Ionix. With a track record of driving product and strategy positioning, Ben’s expertise spans diverse industries, including national intelligence, Threat Intelligence, network, endpoint, OT, and cloud security, as well as cyber offensive solutions. Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Desiree D. Young

EVP of Global Partnerships and Strategic Innovation, ThriveDX

Desiree has over 22 years of experience in higher education in both degree and professional learning environments. She was the Executive Director of Programs and Enrollment Management at the University of Miami. She created, implemented, and managed professional certificate programs and corporate/customized training.

Desiree is currently the Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships and Strategic Innovation at ThriveDX. Under her purview, there are several verticals of responsibilities. Desiree partners with education institutions to offer digital transformational training programs that will shape the next sustainable, dependable, and diverse digital workforce. She engages in industry and competitive research to ensure that strategic decisions are driven by data and information.
Desiree is also responsible for identifying and implementing funding options for institution partnerships. She serves on several Boards to continue her community engagement and outreach work.

Natalie Miller

Regional Director, Apprenti

Natalie partners with organizations to design talent, leadership, change and transformation programs She is an innovative, collaborative sales and talent development leader who drives business strategies and winning solutions to develop and retain talent aligned with organizational objectives and initiatives. 

She currently serves as Regional Director for Apprenti, a non-profit organization that creates secondary pathways to access technology talent and helps organizations address digital skill shortages while providing economic mobility to underrepresented groups by identifying, training, and placing diverse talent in tech careers.
As Regional Director, Natalie innovates and partners with companies to further catalyze a more sustainable talent ecosystem. She serves on the Boards of the Portland Workforce Alliance and Portland SHRM Chapter.

Becky Baumann

Good Jobs Challenge Project Manager, Apprenti

Becky works with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize the impact of Appenti’s Department of Commerce Good Jobs Challenge grant. Drawing from her background in experience design, she excels in bringing together cross-functional teams to find thoughtful and efficient solutions to complex problems.
