I became a new mom [single parent] right in the beginning of the pandemic. I just worked in the medical field all my life and don’t have any other background or degrees in any other field.
Just knowing that I wanted something more and knowing that I had such a great team of instructors and staff at NJIT backing me is really what pushed me. Wanting a better career, wanting more flexibility. This is a gateway to so many different aspects of the field.

As soon as I did the introductory course, I knew this was going to be a life-changing course. I am recently married. My wife works a lot and she’s been supporting me since I lost my job. And I just want a better life for us and eventually kids and everything like that. I definitely should have done this sooner without a doubt. It’s been one of the best experiences of my life.
Our goal is to partner with like-minded entities who want to contribute to providing educational opportunities to individuals in need and underrepresented in the cyber workforce. Together, we’ll be addressing one of our nation’s most critical challenges – the cybersecurity workforce shortage – while also building the economic stability of communities in need.
Sponsorship opportunities include tuition, technology resources (laptops, webcams, etc.), support services donations, and more.
Provide resources and support to program scholars before, during, and after the program.
Provide in-kind technology resources for a select number of scholars.
Provide services and materials that will apply post-completion.
Support the Program through their tax-deductible donations.

There are also opportunities for your company to sponsor a specific cohort of students. Cohort sponsorship includes tuition, technology resources (laptops, webcams, etc.), support services donations, and more.

A unique, effective training and support service in professional cybersecurity courses for deaf and hard of hearing women
Serving current and former members of the military as well as their spouses in launching their cybersecurity careers.

The Cyber Empowerment Fund is a sponsored project of The Miami Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Contributions on behalf of the Cyber Empowerment Fund must be made payable to The Miami Foundation and are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
